Australian Youtube star Brett Stanford – part of “How Ridiculous”– drained the 135.67-yard effort on the fifth hole at the Point Walter Golf Course, Western Australia, in February.

It was captured on film, and Guinness World Records says it beats a record that has stood since 2001, when Fergus Muir, from St Andrews, used an 80-year-old hickory putter on the par-3 5th at the town’s Eden Course to bag a hole-in-one measuring 125 yards.

“We actually took turns initially and we quickly realised that I was going to be the one who was going to have a most consistency,” said Stanford, who used a new Odyssey O-works #1 putter for the attempt.

“I actually did it in a couple of hours. I don’t know how many times exactly, but it would have easily been a couple of hundred attempts. It was actually really lucky it wasn’t longer. The reality is we could have been there all day.”

The How Ridiculous team – Stanford, Derek Herron and Scott Gaunson – found fame when they dunked a basketball off the top of the Mauvoisin Dam in Switzerland, a height of almost 600 feet.
