Turn your toes to improve your flight and power

Fault: Poor ball-striking through a collapsing lead side Fix: Turn your toes in to create a more solid platform to hit against

A common cause of poor ball-striking is a collapsing lead leg through impact. The dynamics of the downswing mean your lead leg is asked to support a lot of force and power as the club is delivered – acting almost as a fulcrum to turn around. It can easily buckle under the pressure, causing a sliding motion that moves the bottom of the arc and forces an inconsistent delivery of the club. To train the lead leg motion, hit balls with both toes turned in. This is how it works.
