1989 Faldo’s final round 65 was the low round of the tournament and got him into a play-off with Scott Hoch. The American missed a two-footer to win on the first hole, before Faldo birdied the next.

1990 Came from behind to get into a play-off with Raymond Floyd, winning on the second hole after Floyd pulled his approach into the pond. First player to win back-to-back since Jack in ‘65-66.

1996 He trailed Greg Norman by six shots going into the final round but the Aussie collapsed, shooting 78 to Faldo’s 67. Norman said after his defeat that Faldo “had gone way, way up in my estimations”.
