A flash in a pan
I can understand why the powers that be are trying to debut new initiatives like six-hole shootouts, but let me issue a word of caution. There are still many of us who enjoy golf as it is. We don’t necessarily want to embrace the American razzmatazz. All we really want is a solution to slow play. In my opinion, the blame lays firmly at the door of the pros who constantly set a bad example for the youngsters. If we can get them moving quicker, I guarantee the amateurs will follow suit.
