ANSER V G SF-TEC
Initially, I wanted to get James hitting a modern equivalent of the Anser by building the Ping G with the same specifications. From there, I started making a few tweaks, the first being an SF-TEC (Straight Flight Technology) head, which has more weight positioned towards the heel to bring down his left to right movement which essentially created a lot of spin and robbed him of carry distance. To help straighten the flight pattern even more, I suggested moving to a slightly heavier and stiffer but still regular flex shaft and straight away his dispersion was a lot better. He was still launching the ball slightly too high, so I dropped the head loft down to 10 degrees and used the adjustable hosel to deloft it so it was basically nine degrees. That helped to produce a far more penetrating ball flight and his ball speed, carry and total distance shot up considerably.
