RAZR X V EPIC

-

Simon was generating too much spin at the start, which was hurting both distance and direction. By moving into the Epic, we were able to move the weight into the heel and select the D (draw) setting to help tighten his landing area. Ball speed went up by 4mph as a result, and a big part of that was due to Simon striking it a lot more consistently. There is a perception that to chase distance, you have to make the club travel faster. But if you are not hitting the centre of the clubface, it’s almost pointless. What makes a big difference is finding the right shaft. We could see using the data that having a regular flex in his old driver was probably correct for his swing speed, but he needed a much heavier shaft to match his quick tempo. This helped to stabilise the head at impact and when he really caught one, he was hitting 220 to 225 yards – a big improvement.
