Hendry’s record
● He won 70 matches in 27 consecutive appearances at the World Championships at Sheffield’s Crucible, making 127 centuries and earning £2.3m.
● He won 36 ranking titles, around £9m in prize money, and registered 775 century breaks – including 11 147 maximums.
● He made seven centuries in the 1994 UK Championship final, a record in a professional match. He also holds the record for most tons by one player in a tournament (16).
● Hendry became the youngest professional snooker player in 1985 aged 16 and, in 1990, he was the youngestever snooker World Champion.
● In May 2012 he retired from the sport to concentrate on his commercial interests, and work as a commentator for the BBC and ITV.
