Think of break­ing putts to hit draws and fades

Fault: Poor face aim caus­ing loss of con­trol on shaped shots Fix: Aim the blade as you would for a curv­ing putt The key to a suc­cess­ful draw or fade is to start the ball away from the tar­get, so it can curve back to­wards it. A key er­ror club play­ers make is to start the ball too straight – mean­ing the spin works the ball away from the tar­get. Take a sim­i­lar ap­proach to how you’d deal with a break­ing putt and you will make progress. Here’s the con­cept in ac­tion for a fade; re­verse it for draws.
