Study the face of your driver and you’ll see it’s not flat. From both toe to heel and top to bottom there’s a subtle curve, the centre bulging slightly forward. This makes the top of the face more lofted than the centre, meaning a strike from here launches the ball higher. This can also get you extra distance.
