The motorsport world has paid tribute to a brilliant young man, taken too soon at the age of 25.

“Jules was a shining talent. He was destined for great things in our sport, success he so richly deserved. At the same time as being a fercely motivated racer, he was also an extremely warm, humble and intensely likeable person, who lit up our garage and our lives.” John Booth, Manor team principal

“Very seldom do we fnd a real jewel, like Lewis Hamilton, Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher. Jules had the potential to be in that league. A smashing boy and a world champion in the making.” Eddie Jordan, BBC F1 analyst

“Jules was a great friend. He was a fantastic boy, very humble and an amazing driver. Unfortunately in F1, he didn’t have the opportunity to race in a competitive car. He showed his talent by fnishing in the points in Monaco [in 2014, where Bianchi fnished ninth]. Everyone knows it was an amazing thing he did in that race.” Felipe Massa, Williams F1 driver

“I will never forget. We race, and we race for Jules.” Romain Grosjean, Lotus F1 driver

“In 2008, my second year in F3, he came in as a rookie. I remember a race in Mugello. I started from pole and take of – I see him in my mirrors, chasing me down. He was burning his tyres. It showed how competitive he was, so hungry for success. We will miss him.” Nico Hülkenberg, Force India driver

“For me he was the biggest talent I saw in motorsport. He was the best driver I raced against. He was a special driver and a special person, very humble and a great human.” Roberto Merhi, Manor F1 driver

“His family is our family, and we are part of the family now. Jules will stay for us forever.” Sergio Pérez, Force India driver

“Jules was one of us, part of the Ferrari family. The Suzuka incident took away from us a frst-rate person. This boy was born with us, and we thought of him as our driver of the future. He would have been perfect.” Luca di Montezemolo, former Ferrari chairman

“No words can describe what his family and the sport have lost. All I can say is it was a pleasure knowing and racing you.” Max Chilton, former Marussia teammate
