All models have Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, while SE Nav models and above have a navigation system with an 8-inch screen, 3D maps and a seven-year subscription to LIVE Services. Premium models and above have a high-quality sound system by hi-fi experts Krell.

Gadget-wise, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go keeps a safe distance from the car in front, no matter where you find yourself. There’s also Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition, Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Alert, which will advise when to take a break.

Under the bonnet of the new Tucson there’s a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines, including the performanceminded, turbocharged 177PS 1.6 T-GDi petrol. The Tucson is also the first Hyundai SUV with a mild hybrid powertrain. Combined with the 2.0 litre CRDi diesel engine, the 48V electric system supplies additional power to help reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
