British mountains in winter are all about blizzards, darkness, short days and night nav. For a long time I searched for a clear pair of goggles (to protect your eyes from the sting of hail in strong winds). Alas, winter in Britain is rarely sunny so the usual ski goggles prove a little heavy when it comes to tinting. The sun doesn’t shine when a blizzard is raging, especially at night – so I have found clear goggles are the best option! To cut a long, boring story into a short, boring story I found a pair of jockey goggles while out on a walk one day. This got me thinking, and an hour’s Googling later, I came up with the idea of using skydiving goggles in the mountains: perfect, light, cheap, fog-free, what more could you want? So far they have proved to be just the job and I feel I need to tell the world about my great discovery...
