The most beautiful view/ exciting climb I know...

-

ROB JOHNSON

My most exciting climbs have been in the Alps. I have had a lot of 'type 2' fun there – in that it's been fun after the event but not always at the time. It is funny though how the hardship heightens the memories. Bivvying high on routes is never comfortable but always gives incredible views!

Aonach Eagach so far for a satisfying scramble, seemingly through the sky.

I could say "whichever one I’m planning to do next", but that’s no fun. Let’s go for the summit view from A’Mhaighdean, a hard-won peak in a uniquely wild and atmospheric part of Scotland.

LUKE READER, TRAIL READER

A clear winter's day along the Carn Mor Dearg Arête, looking in each direction at the amount of summits in view, those with snow sprinkled on them and those without, and especially the snow-packed gullies of The Ben and iced-over run-off of water.

Innominata Ridge on the south face of Mont Blanc. This side of the mountain is a truly wild setting, unspoilt and wholly untamed. All the routes up this side are magnificent mountaineering undertakings that require total commitment and deliver life-changing experiences.
