Make mine a large one!

The best boozer for a post-walk pint? We asked, you said…

-

Jason Pullin The Robin Hood Inn below Birchen Edge is perfect for parking up and being able to go for a quick climb or walk, followed by a nice local pie and a pint of Chatsworth Gold. Peter Wyatt The Old Dungeon Ghyll! For me it's the best pub in the Lakes and they always have Old Peculiar on!

Andrew Booth Kirkstile Inn for Loweswater Gold and that view of Mellbreak from the garden.

Stuart Douglas Clachaig Inn, Glencoe… nothing better than a roaring fire, huge chip butty and a single malt after a day in the mountains around Glencoe.

Paul Stewart Old Crown, Hesket Newmarket! Wonderful real ales brewed on site. Not very touristy either, even though I’m a tourist.

Dean Read The Old Poets‘ Corner in Ashover, Derbyshire.

David Dowling My all-time favourite post-walking pint came in The Crown Hotel in Hawes after 14 miles of appalling weather. We crawled through the door, the fire was on, Old Peculiar was on. I can still taste the relief. Nick Harbour The Hunter‘s Moon Inn, Llangattock Lingoed. Great food, great beers, open fire, friendly people. Stephen Rogers Dog and Gun, Keswick. So many happy memories of walks and postwalk drinks with my lovely wife, and friends. I will be introducing it to the new generation of walkers in my family this autumn!

Col Wood I‘m going for the Old Inn at Carbost in Skye. Not far from the top of Glen Brittle, great drinks, good food, local music and even has a bunkhouse overlooking a loch (and the Talisker distillery about 200 metres away).

Gordon MacDonald The Ben Nevis Inn after doing the CMD Arête/ Ben Nevis loop. Excellent atmosphere into the evening. I‘m also very fond of the welcoming Wasdale Head Inn, whatever the season.

Nick King Tyn-y-Coed Inn in Capel Curig. Great local ales and a beef curry in front of an open fire are the perfect end to a day on the hills. And there's so many different walks that end there.

Ian Cole Cwellyn Arms (Rhyd Ddu) after doing Snowdon Round (ascend Snowdon Ranger Path, descend Rhyd-Ddu Path). Thirteen different ales and wholesome, warming food.

Corinne Hill Stickle Barn, Great Langdale because of the amazing food, great atmosphere and lovely outside area to chill.

Mark Clay George Hotel, Keswick, for a few pints of Sneck Lifter and a massive portion of Cow Pie. Then back to the B&B to sleep the sleep of a fellwalking hero.
