The outsole is remarkable in that it has a very aggressive set of lugs that are deep and well-spaced, with a heel breast for more grip. Uppers are made from suede leather with a BDry waterproof membrane, while the toe area is stiffened and benefits from an external rubber rand for more durability. Weight is reasonable, too. 5/5
Men’s sizes are 7-13 and women’s 4-8½ . Fitwise they are narrower and neater than some others. The uppers are quite stiff so they don’t mould to the foot as easily as others; for this reason it’s worth trying these shoes on before buying if you have wider feet, or you prefer a looser and less snug design. The heel cup is supportive and fits closely. 5/5
For a shoe that has a stiff upper, this one is more comfortable than some others; the neat fit along with the footbed – which is far more supportive than most – is key to this, so the result is a cradled foot that feels very comfortable. Get this onto a rough trail and comfort is maintained, thanks to the stiffness in the sole and upper. There are lighter and more flexible shoes for sure, but overall this is great. 5/5
A trail shoe needs a number of key features and this has them all. The supportive upper is durable, and the outsole is stiff enough to make rocky steps comfortable and secure. Deep, well-spaced lugs provide good grip on soft ground, while the heel breast adds braking power when descending paths. There are shoes that are better for climbing, though, as well as lighter ones. 5/5
