Regatta
Delph Zip Off
£50 n Men’s 30-44; two leg lengths n Women’s none n Weight 329g (size 34R) n Materials 65% polyester, 35% cotton
The low price is very attractive and brings a polyester and cotton mix fabric, which is well proven for being comfortable and reasonably fast-drying. There’s also an elasticated waist with belt loops, but no belt is provided. There are two hip pockets, two thigh pockets (which accommodate half a map length) and two rear pockets. The knees have some articulation to improve fit, and while it’s not of a stretch fabric this zip-off trouser does sit extremely comfortably and allows for reasonable freedom of movement.
There is no women’s version, but for the same price you can get the 100 per cent nylon Regatta Chaska Zip Off Trouser which is a good alternative. The main niggle for me is there are no zipped pockets, so keeping items secure when on the move is not easy. Also, the pockets are small, which is just annoying when you try to stash guidebooks or maps in them, and there are no ankle zips either. In addition, the fabric does not have the performance benefits of higher-priced fabrics.
A budget option that can be used for travel and walking, but it’s not the best performance.
