The Saddle of Glen Shiel Scotland
Glen Shiel is literally stuffed to the gunwales with interlinking summits and ridges, all top-notch and all of them well and truly embedded on all the best ‘to do’ lists.
Each side of the glen has a classic summitcollecting linear walk, and both rightly attract a lot of attention, but within the confines of the range there is also an outstanding horseshoe loop that pips everything in the quality stakes. The two key elements, the Forcan Ridge and The Saddle, should give an inkling to the quality the loop embraces. The Forcan Ridge delivers graceful knife-edge scrambling, while the The Saddle is the perfect definition of rocky majesty.
