IT'S GOOD
The weight and price of this tent are low compared to others we tested, and these factors set the Ordos 2 apart from them; plus, it’s made from ripstop nylon for durability. Pitching is quick and easy, with a skeleton of poles providing the frame from which the inner is suspended and the fly draped over. You then get a stable structure with a front porch entry. As the sides are quite steep and the inner does not taper too much to the rear, headroom is quite good – two people can sit up at the front of the tent.
HOWEVER
The Ordos 2 is inner-pitched first so you need to decide if this bothers you or not, and the flysheet edges don’t hug the ground – which is great for airflow but not so good for keeping the porch dry in crosswind-driven rain. The porch is smaller than some other options and only just big enough for a couple of packs. The inner has lots of mesh too, so this tent can be a little chillier than some and condensation could drip from the underside of the flysheet through the inner. A slight annoyance is the outer door cannot be opened from the top.
