“I’ve been a Trail magazine enthusiast for over two years now – ever since I emerged from the university library and found that life on the hills is what really matters! After hearing a workmate say he was going to do the National Three Peaks Challenge, me and some mates decided to have a go, too. We set off up to Ben Nevis at 5am, beginning the challenge at 1pm. Everything went well timing-wise during Nevis and Scafell... too well. When we got to Snowdon, we were told we couldn’t park where we’d planned, which meant our chance of meeting the 24hr time limit was in serious jeopardy. We set off at 10am with just three hours to go: were up in 1hr 50mins and down in less, running like demons, to make the deadline with one minute to go!”
