Win a once-ina-lifetime holiday trekking in Jordan from Dana to Petra worth £1,589

Trek the Inca Trail of the Middle East walking amongst sculpted sandstone, following the most famous section of the Jordan Trail.

-

Launched in March 2017, the Jordan Trail is a new 647km (402 mile) walking route connecting Um Qais in the north of the country with Aqaba on the Red Sea in the south. On KE Adventure Travel’s Dana to Petra Trek, you can explore a section of the trail, fondly known as The Inca Trail of the Middle East.

During six days of trekking you will walk through the most rugged country in Jordan, straddling the edge of the Great Rift Valley. Starting out from Wadi Feinan in the Dana Nature Reserve, the trek takes you on hunters’ trails through deep gorges and across high ridges, climbing gradually from around 300 metres at Feinan to around 1100 metres at the high viewpoint above Petra. Nights will be spent camping Bedouin-style with the local guide and crew. Climbing a final steep slope, you will reach the spectacular monastery, which heralds your arrival at Petra – one of the world’s New7Wonders. This great adventure follows in the footsteps of many explorers such as Lawrence of Arabia and John Lewis Burckhardt, the Swissborn scholar who rediscovered the lost city of Petra in 1812. This is a magical week of discovery, walking and above all Jordanian hospitality.
