Trail (UK)

Wild Rating

GETTING HERE > Access to the Quiraing by car is incredibly easy. A large car park with tourist information board lies to the south-west on the road from Brogaig (NG439679). Footpaths lead into the landslip and over Meall na Suiramach. Another path, at NG463709, leads up from Flodigarry where you can also find a hostel with a small shop.

STAYING OVER > If you're wild camping, make sure you leave no trace. Arrive late, leave early and carry out everything you bring in. Bury toilet waste - excluding loo roll - in a hole six inches deep. It can be tempting to take rocks and fossils away, but do leave them in place.

WHAT’S NEARBY > The entire, glorious 36km Trotternish Ridge, which can be tackled in 2-3 days. The Storr (NG495540) has similarly eerie scenery and the coastline to the north is well worth exploring.
