THE LAKE DISTRICT’S BOB GRAHAM ROUND

Traditiona­lly a 24-hour fell run for the elite (or crazy), this route takes in 42 of Lakeland’s highest mountains in a 119km (74 mile) loop. It can be completed in a five- or six-day walk, bagging you very nearly the height of the world’s tallest mountain.

The route starts and ends in Keswick and will take you over Skiddaw, Blencathra, Helvellyn, Fairfield, High Raise, Bowfell, Scafell, Pillar and Great Gable in an epic mountain fest!

PLAN Harvey Bob Graham Round 1:40,000 map. WALK 119km (74 miles).

CLIMB 8687 metres (you will need a mere 161m more to equal the height of Everest).

STOPS take a break at Keswick, Threlkeld, Grasmere, Great Langdale, Wasdale Head and Seatoller.

TERRAIN continuous rough mountain walking with some paths. Some areas are exposed, such as Hall’s Fell Ridge off Blencathra. Best done outside of winter conditions unless you're properly equipped.
