IT'S GOOD
There is a little more insulation in this jacket than some lower priced options and, as there is no hood, it is also a bit lighter and more compact, which is ideal for backpacking. A hooded option is available for £180. Stretch panels around the armpit increase comfort and movement in the sleeves and there was no hint of the cuffs or hem riding up when raising my arms, which is something many other jackets cannot claim. There are two main zipped pockets and the cuffs and hem are elasticated. So a good general jacket for the cooler autumn and winter months.
HOWEVER
The hooded version has a higher price tag, which may make it less attractive compared to others. There is no hem drawcord and no adjustment at the cuffs, two areas that can become drafty unless you are lucky enough to have a perfect fit. There is no collar adjustment and, for me, there was a gap that I would want to plug with a neck insulator. Like most jackets, the pockets are placed quite low but are OS map sized and zipped for security.
VERDICT
Slightly more insulation is provided than on some other jackets, while maintaining a low weight, but it lacks a drawcord at the hem and some cuff adjustment.
