The path then progresses over Dead Side’s lengthy ridge, climbing southwest with the walking easy and extremely enjoyable. It is a relatively straightforward climb, on a gradual rise, the path cutting through gorgeous heathery slopes. Only on the final approach to Hundleshope Heights does the gradient steepen to reach a trig point. The 685m summit (the highest point of the route) lies a few metres to the west. A fantastic vista extends from this vantage point, with Preston Law and Newby Kipps particularly prominent.
