SD745777 Head south-west down the road passing the Water Treatment Works building left. At a footpath go left through a gate signposted for ‘Yorkshire Three Peaks’, ‘Great Douk’ and ‘Ingleborough’. Follow the track through three gates to enter Souther Scales Nature Reserve. Cross the field and rise on a track to pass through limestone pavement to continue past Braithwaite Wife Pothole (left). Pass through a gate and rise steeply on a paved path. A boardwalk helps over wet ground, after which the paved path continues to rise over the moor crossing a stream at one point. Continue on the path to reach a wall corner. From here follow a steep and rough zigzag path to pass through a gully higher up. At the top, pass through a kissing gate in a wall corner, continuing uphill on the path beyond. Stay ahead at a junction left, rising to pass a cairn left and then right as the angle eases on the summit plateau. Cross this to reach the summit.

SD741745 Retrace your steps down off Ingleborough summit to pass through the kissing gate in the wall corner again. Now leave your outbound route to go ahead on a grassy path with a wall right. When the wall bends right stay with it to continue to the summit of Simon Fell, marked by a small cairn left of the wall.

3

SD754751 Return to the wall and follow it north-east, descending to cross a stile by a gate left of a wall corner. Take the path ahead with the wall left. Follow the wall to descend to a boggy col under Park Fell. Cross the col by the wall and follow the wall up the fell beyond. Curve right with the wall higher up and at a junction, fork half-right to reach the trig point on Park Hill.

4

SD764769 Take the path north-easterly towards a gate and wall corner. Pass through a gate in this wall corner to go left and then immediately left again over a stile and through

a gate. Go right to descend north-easterly with a wall right. Lower down, pass through a gate in a wall corner to continue ahead by the wall right. Continue to just before a house with outbuildings to reach a path cutting back left (near a small coppice right).

5

SD771779 Take the path cutting back left to shortly leave it and take a faint path left to contour the fellside and reach a marker post and stile at SD768779. Cross this and take the path over the next field heading left of a tree line ahead. Continue through a further two gates to cut left following the path to cross a track. Continue ahead to cross a stile in wall. Go right, crossing limestone pavement to pass a small section of wall. The path now becomes vague so continue in the same direction (roughly westerly) aiming for the far left of the Whernside ridge ahead. After crossing a grassy bump continue to a good track by a solitary tree at SD755779. Go right to follow the track to cross a stile and reach the B6255. Go left back to the start.
