Ariya Woodall

-

“I am nominating my youngest daughter Ariya, who is now four years old and in her third year of doing the Everest Anywhere challenge. Throughout the three years she has walked every mountain or hill unaided. In 2018 at just two years old Ariya finished just short of three Everests. That was the hardest year, as we had to really plan the walks, making sure there were places to stop for snacks and enough to keep her interested, like stones to collect, trees to climb or water to splash in. We also had to make sure she had a sleep on the way in the car or she would be grumpy! In 2019 at three years old she climbed the height of five Everests and raised money for Mountain Rescue. She walked 96 miles along the West Highland Way, being the youngest to ever complete it unaided. She also climbed Snowdon, the Yorkshire Three Peaks, plus wild camped on Fleetwith Pike and climbed her first Munro, Buachaille Etive Beag. In the 2020 challenge, she is currently on three Everests, which is not bad considering we spent three months in lockdown. She has now walked 101 Wainwrights, climbed Tryfan’s North Ridge scramble, and in total over 300 hills/mountains and over 4000 miles. She certainly was born for outdoor adventures and I can see her achieving great things in the future.”
