1 ST414009 Walk down a lane towards Pilsdon. Reach a house on the right. Go through a solid painted gate, alongside a tennis court, down some steps, below a unicorn sculpture, then up a bank to a stile. Part-way down the right field edge, go right through the second of two gates. Aim for a barn, go through a gap, and emerge on a lane. Turn right.

Go left at a fingerpost. Soon leave the wide track, through a seven-bar gate, diagonally right to the field corner. Continue on the right on field edges through two gates. Follow the right-hand field edge to a lane.

2 SY422999 Cross the lane and walk along a tree-lined path. Soon after a gate, go diagonally left at a fingerpost. After a gate, cross a footbridge and a field. In the next field, go diagonally right to the field corner, then left to a gate for a fenced path. At the top, go left through a gate; keep your direction with a hedge on the right. Go through a farm to join a road.

3 ST421016 Turn right. At a hut, go right, then immediately left on a narrow, sunken path. At a fingerpost near the top, take the left fork. Go right at a National Trust (NT) sign to climb Lewesdon Hill. From the top, descend left. Keep on past another NT sign and a line of trees on the left. Ignore the right fork. Reach a track, go right through the gate, then left on a drive, right through a gate, then diagonally left across a field. Keep forward to a lane.

4 ST439002 Turn left and go straight

across the junction. At the corner, go right alongside a house, with a hedge on the right. Once over the brow, continue to a gate and walkway. Climb left of a house up steps, go forward to the right of the houses, then left to a lane. Enter Stoke Abbott (turn right to visit the church). Pass the New Inn. Turn left at a sign for Chart Knolle.

Leave the drive for a bridleway on the left. Just past a house, go left on a footpath to Stoke Knapp. Follow waymarkers, eventually join a track swinging left downhill to a farm. After a gate, go right, signed Broadwindsor. Continue with a hedge on the right in the next field. After a gate, go left to two more gates, then curve gently uphill to the final field corner and a road.

5 ST447023 Cross the road. Follow a track to a T-junction and turn left. Reach the road, go left, then right at junction. Cross the junction with the White Lion. Go left, signed Marshwood. Where the main road curves left, keep forward, signed Burstock. Turn into a farm, immediately right (with a barn to the left). Go straight across a field, through a gap, then diagonally left to a gate. Follow waymarkers to the bottom of a left-hand corner of the next field. Veer left through a gate towards a farm. Go left along wooden fence, then right then left between buildings to go uphill on a track to a lane. Cross the lane; climb with a fence to the right. Follow markers to join a track below the hill. Go left at NT sign. Go through hillfort walls and on to trig point. Below find a bench and take the path to the car park from here.
