BAG THE PEAK, WEAR THE PATCH

As well as collecting Trail 100 summits, you can now celebrate your climbs by collecting our new mountain patches.

-

Regular readers of this magazine will already be familiar with the Trail 100 peak-bagging challenge, but there’s never any harm in a quick refresher. The Trail 100 is our hand-picked bucket list of Britain’s very best hills and mountains, ranging from the remote beasts of the northern Highlands to family-friendly peaks everywhere from the Dales to Dartmoor. None of the names on the list are there because of height, technicality or geographical location. Each peak is simply selected because we believe every hillwalker should climb them in their lifetime.

And as well as the personal satisfaction of chalking names off your own personal list, we thought you may as well have the chance to brag about the achievement and show it off to your fellow hillwalkers. Which is why we’re creating an exclusive collection of Trail 100 patches that you can iron on to your jacket, hat or rucksack after climbing the peak to wear as a badge of honour.

We kicked the collection off a few months ago with Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis – and they sold out so quickly that we figured we’d better make some more! So as well as reprinting a big pile of those original Three Peaks patches, we’ve also created new ones for Blencathra,

Helvellyn, Cat Bells and Tryfan (see below).

So if you’ve bagged the peak already, head to our website and order your patch from lfto.com/shop. If you haven’t climbed the mountain yet, stick it on your to-do list for this summer, knock another name off your Trail 100 challenge list, then treat yourself to a patch when you get back.
