Nose: Warm gingerbread, star anise, Big Red cinnamon chewing gum, cloves, nutmeg, a hint of freshly ground allspice and bags and bags of ground ginger.

Palate: Jamaican ginger cake and huge brown sugar sweetness; golden syrup, orange peel and crushed ginger nut biscuits giving way to masses of sweet spice.

Finish: Ginger spice all the way, and hints of clove and orange.

Comments: Extremely sweet and a huge ginger spice bomb, this full-on spiced rum is one for the sweet-toothed. 7.9

Peter

Nose: Lots of sweet cinnamon, ginger and cacao. Maybe a hint of cardamom.

Palate: Thick, sugarsweet, peppery-gingerbite. Simple, hot and fading quickly.

Finish: Honeycomb and butterscotch fades into a hot ginger tingle through the centre of the tongue.

Comments: The apparent alcohol by volume of 50% is masked by the heavy sugar levels. Rather simplistic in its delivery. 7.5
