Nose: bolts of tweed fabric, leather fishing bags and pouches filled with vanilla tobacco. A little plastic note, like empty camera film capsules. Then sweetness builds with icing sugar and poached pears. Fatty ham and pickled apricots.

Palate: Red toffee apples and dark treacle. Plenty of sweetness, tablet pieces, vanilla cream puffs. Cherry Turkish Delight and cookie dough ice cream.

Finish: Sweet and lots of toffee and almond slices with custard.

Comments: Great stuff, a balanced dram with some great sweet layers.

Christopher

Nose: An intriguing mix of Tizer and olive oil, crayons, greenhouse, and Mr Sheen. Orange wine gums and hot sawdust. Someone has lit a vanilla and allspice candle.

Palate: Silky and sweet. The unusual nose comes together into a wellintegrated, sweet, orange candy-led profile. Creamy butterscotch plays around the edges, with sultana in the middle and a little oak tannin.

Finish: Medium-short, fades to lemon oil.

Comments: Quite delicate and soda-like. Not super complex, but what’s there has me intrigued enough to keep going back for more.
