Ian Macleod Distillers introduces King Robert II brand refresh and new blended whiskies

-

Ian Macleod Distillers has added three new blended whiskies to its King Robert II portfolio, including its first age-statement whiskies.

The new expressions include the travel-retail exclusive King Robert II 8 Years Old, alongside the King Robert II 12 Years Old and King Robert II Sherry Cask Finish. They join the existing King Robert II Treble Cask Matured blend in the range of whiskies.

King Robert II 8 Years Old (RRP €19.90 for a one-litre bottle) has a higher malt content than most blends and is designed for value shoppers looking for something special. The flagship expression, King Robert II 12 Years Old (RRP €27.90), is an aspirational blend for existing fans of the range, while King Robert II Sherry Cask (RRP €19.90) has been finished for six months in sherry casks, giving it a rich flavour at a value price point.

The Sherry Cask Finish is launching exclusively in travel retail with Duty Free Trading Latvija, a border store and airport operator in Eastern Europe (a key region for King Robert II sales) and a long-term partner of Ian Macleod Distillers.

These launches coincide with the introduction of a brand refresh across the King Robert II range, which also includes vodka, gin, white rum and dark rum.

William Ovens, global travel retail director at Ian Macleod Distillers, said: “King Robert II is Ian Macleod Distillers’ top-selling brand within global travel retail and we are absolutely thrilled to have launched the new-look packaging and three stunning new expressions, which we are confident will add variety and value to the blended Scotch whisky category."
