Frankie & Alice
Halle Berry pulls out all the stops as 1970 Los Angeles go-go dancer Frankie, who is prone to blackouts during which two distinct personalities emerge – a timid seven-year-old child with a genius IQ and a white racist Southern belle. Fortunately, Stellan Skarsgård’s sympathetic shrink is on hand to uncover the traumatic origins of her disorder. The film is a lot less lurid and campy than you might think. Berry picked up a Golden Globe nomination for her gutsy performance.
