BRITISH CHAMPIONS DAY will be without two of horse racing’s biggest stars after the recent retirements of Alpha Centauri and Saxon Warrior, but there will still be plenty of talent on show at Ascot this Saturday.
The current holder of the Champion Stakes, Cracksman, will be looking to defend his title in what will be the four-year-old colt’s last race. Meanwhile, King George winner Poet’s Word will be aiming for a third Group One victory at Ascot this year.
