How did you get involved with the drama?
My agent sent me the script with an email saying, ‘read This First. At the top of the list.’ When my agent does that, I know it’s something unique and special. I was very taken by the journey that these two men went on together. I found it very touching and moving.
What was it like to work with peter dinklage?
I’ve never seen an episode of Game of Thrones in my life, but i’m a big fan of his, outside of that world. We had a lot of fun during filming but we never lost sight of how important we felt the story was.
How did fame affect villechaize?
He didn’t deal with it particularly well. As an overnight success, Fantasy Island made him wealthy and extremely famous, but he maybe didn’t have the guidance to deal with that. He made some pretty irrational decisions and squandered a lot of money.
If you were a journalist, like your character, and had the chance to interview anyone, who would it be?
Probably Frank Sinatra. He’s one of those people who’s always fascinated me in terms of how huge he was and the impact he had. He’d be a fascinating person to spend an evening with.
