THE 32-PLAYER tournament is the first fully televised PDC event to take place following the sport’s return. For the first time, Blackpool’s Winter Gardens won’t be staging the contest – darts’ second biggest competition – which will instead be held at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. Last year, Rob Cross claimed his first title to become just the fourth player to win both the PDC World Championship and the World Matchplay.
