co­me­dian omid djalili hosted the glit­ter­ing even­ing, which was themed around the BBC1 com­pe­ti­tion, at old Billings­gate in lon­don. and all of series seven’s bak­ers went, ex­cept for week two leaver, welsh hair­dresser louise wil­liams.

past Bake Off con­tes­tants were also out in force, in­clud­ing series five hope­fuls richard Burr and Martha col­li­son, plus Howard Mid­dle­ton and chris­tine wal­lace from series four. star baker chris­tine made a cake to celebrate the char­ity’s 30th birth­day, which she pre­sented to child­line founder dame es­ther rantzen.

Mean­while, Strictly con­tender will Young took time out from dance re­hearsals to pro­vide the mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment. the night raised more than £825,000 for child­line.
