TV Times - - Special -

There’s nothing better than an episode of Yes, Minister

Do you clash at all with your husband about what you’re going to watch on the box?

We argue about the same things that most people argue about – like who has the remote? And what we’re watching tonight. His history documentary?

No – US crime drama NCIS!

Do you watch a lot of crime dramas?

I watch Sherlock and Midsomer Murders. David Suchet was a great Poirot – he got him to a T.

You’re a big

Bake Off fan. Do you do much baking in Number 10?

Because I’m diabetic [she has type 1 diabetes] I tend not to bake these days, but I can watch and admire the amazing showpieces that they produce. It’s great

fun watching Bake Off.

Who are your TV role models?

I enjoyed watching The Avengers with Diana Rigg and then Joanna Lumley. But I don’t think I thought about it in those terms. I have never had a female role model – I’ve always got on with doing what I’m doing.

Do you have favourite films?

Casablanca, The Fugitive and You

Only Live Twice.

What about politicallythemed shows?

There’s nothing better for a government minister than an episode of Yes, Minister.

Did you see ed Balls on

Strictly Come Dancing?

I like watching Strictly, but my Saturday evenings tend to be busy so I wasn’t really able to see Ed – just snatches on the Sunday results programme.
