Stacey’s over the moon as she has her first pregnancy scan
Finally, someone with a smile on their face in Albert Square! Stacey’s at the hospital with Martin for her 12-week pregnancy scan, and she and her husband are thrilled to meet baby Fowler – even though he or she just looks like a wonky blob at this early stage.
Naturally, Stacey doesn’t spend all week on cloud nine. Earlier on, she gets caught up in the drama involving Steven and Lauren. The couple’s relationship takes yet another nosedive after Lauren has a disastrous day at the office. She’s due to deliver an important presentation, but Josh notices she’s out of sorts and sends her home.
Back in Walford, as Lauren laments her missed opportunity, Steven tries to reassure her, but his attempt at sympathy falls wide of the mark. Reveals our source: ‘Steven says to her that it doesn’t matter, but that’s like a red rag to a bull because to Lauren, it does matter. She snaps, and says some harsh things to him.’
Stacey, who’s become like a big sister to Lauren – despite the fact that she broke up her parents’ marriage – is on hand at the caff when Lauren needs someone to turn to. Can she give Lauren the support she needs?
As Lauren questions her future, there’s no such worry for Stacey, who then heads to Walford General for her ultrasound. Martin’s desperate to share their good news, but Stacey’s worried how people will react, given that she had post-partum psychosis as a result of her last pregnancy. And, she asks her husband if they can keep mum a bit longer. Martin agrees – but, brimming with excitement, how long till he lets the cat out of the bag?
