David finds Shona at Kylie’s grave – will she tell him she’s Clayton’s mum?
Shona’s bright enough to know that the phrase ‘I was just passing’ won’t cut it with David when he finds her at Kylie’s grave. Caught on the hop, will she admit that she’s the mother of his late wife’s killer?
David already knows that there’s more to the café worker than she’s letting on. Earlier, he visits Shona in hospital, where she has had surgery for a ruptured spleen after her beating by Nathan’s mates. As doctors discuss her condition, he learns she has a C-section scar that made the op tricky. The crimper had no idea she was a mum, and grills Billy for info, who reveals that his housemate had a son but lost him.
Gail – who knows the truth about Shona – is panicked to learn of David’s discovery, and warns Shona, who later tells David she had a boy called ‘Jimmy’ who went off the rails. David is moved and gently kisses her and this time, Shona doesn’t back off – much to the panic of Gail who is watching.
‘Shona fancies David quite a bit,’ says Julia Goulding, who plays her. ‘He makes her laugh and she sees he is a good father. It has been bubbling for quite a while, but those feelings are definitely starting to surface.’
As Gail tells David that she thinks he’s getting too close to Shona, Shona confides in Eileen that she has feelings for David. But she remains guilt-ridden over her big secret, which explains why she has decided to visit Kylie’s grave. She hasn’t counted on David turning up with Max and Lily in tow. Will she finally buckle and reveal the truth about her identity?
