Having landed her dream job in that shiny office, Lauren Branning probably thought that her biggest challenge would be deciding whether to have a latte or a macchiato on her way to work. But since joining the well-groomed crew at Weyland and Co, life has become very complicated. She’s got the hots for her boss, Josh (and why not – did you see him with his shirt off?), and found herself with an unwanted pregnancy, courtesy of manipulative boyfriend Steven.

This week, Lauren hopes things are on the up as she prepares to assist Max deliver an important presentation. But mildly deranged sister Abi is up to no good. It seems all the time she spent in evil Aunt Babe’s company has left its mark on the once saintly sibling. Hacked off with the way Lauren has been treating her, she plants more seeds of doubt in Steven’s mind as to what his girlfriend is getting up to in Canary Wharf.

Lauren is delighted when the presentation goes well, and her good mood rubs off on Abi, who decides to be a bit kinder towards her. Skiving off work, Abi later pays Lauren a surprise visit at Weyland Towers and suggests they go out for lunch together. She’s left seriously miffed when Lauren gives her short shrift and disappears with Max to photograph a property.

As a bitter Abi heads home, Lauren arrives at the property, but is left confused when Max slopes off with the investor. What is he up to? Meanwhile, back at the office, Max picks up on the body language between Lauren and Josh, and asks his daughter if there’s anything going on between them. As Lauren insists there isn’t, Max makes a revelation that leaves her stunned.

Max isn’t the only one with his suspicions, of course. When Abi later tells Lauren that Josh will be coming to her 21st birthday party, Steven immediately spots the look of horror on his girlfriend’s face and becomes even more paranoid about the nature of their relationship. He’s already in a foul mood, after overhearing Ian confide to Jane that he doesn’t feel the same way about his stepson as he does about Lucy and Peter. Simmering with rage, is devastated Steven finally about to snap?
