Wild animal Park in Kent hoped damara would have their first-ever successful black rhino pregnancy.

‘There are only around 2,500 black rhinos left in the wild so this birth was important, and as a first-time mum, we had no clue how damara was going to react.

‘Thankfully, damara delivered naturally, and was calm and attentive. Just 43 minutes after birth, the calf was taking his first tentative steps. it was a great result for the animal park. one day, it might be possible for this baby rhino to return to the wild and help preserve the species.’
