Here’s your first glimpse of former Downton Abbey favourite Joanne Froggatt and Hornblower’s ioan Gruffudd in itv’s new, thought-provoking thriller Liar, which will air this autumn.
the six-parter is written by brothers Harry and Jack williams, who penned Bafta-nominated BBC1 drama The Missing, and sees Joanne playing caring, dedicated schoolteacher laura newell, while ioan is renowned surgeon andrew ellis, the father of one of laura’s teenage pupils.
a chemistry soon develops between andrew and laura, but when their first date goes badly wrong, there are devastating consequences, and they both have a very different take on what happened…
