a film aiming for, and nearly catching, that Notting Hill vibe, starring Keira Knightley as a broke musician wondering if she’s going to be stuck on the coffee-shop circuit for all time and Mark Ruffalo as a one-time hotshot producer who’s just been fired. Can he help her to make it? Can she help him rediscover his mojo? There are no prizes for guessing what the answers are, but the journey is a sweet one, Knightley and Ruffalo are both engaging performers (and Keira does her own singing), and there’s James Corden in a neat supporting turn as Keira’s best mate. One of the songs, lost Stars, was nominated for an Oscar.
