the moomins have been going strong since just after World War Two, leaping first off the pages of Tove Jansson’s much-loved novels and comic strips onto TV screens, before more recently finally hitting the big screen in their first English-language outing. Moomins fans can breathe easy – the story is close in looks and tone to the quirky original and sees the sweet, hippopotamus-like Moomin tribe heading off to the South of France where their close-knit family is put to the test. The voice cast of Russell Tovey, Tracy-ann Oberman and Nathaniel Parker should help anyone unfamiliar with these delightfully inquisitive adventurers get their bearings.
