The Yorkshire Dales & the Lakes
documentary / 9.00pm / More4
Last year, the westerly side of the Yorkshire Dales and the easterly border of the Lake District were both expanded. Though they’re still officially separate, these two national parks now form one massive spread of open space, the biggest expanse of protected countryside in England. This series about living and working in the area kicks off with a visit to Bleak Bank Farm in the Dales, where the Dawson family are crossing all their fingers as the lambs go off to auction. And in Buttermere in Cumbria, the locals are preparing the hound trail – a form of dog racing with its very own local flavour.
