risk consultant Kate Mara rocks up at a secret lab to assess whether Toby Jones and fellow scientists should end their research – the creation of an artificially intelligent being. The fact that ‘Morgan’, in the shape of Anya Taylor-joy, seems totally human doesn’t help. If you treat this as a superior B-movie, there is plenty to enjoy. The two female leads give excellent, assertive performances, even if the thorny question of ‘what is human?’ isn’t kicked about too much.
