Expectation is high and rumours are rife about BBC1’S much-anticipated adaptation of Little Women, based on Louisa May Alcott’s much-loved coming-of-age story about the lives and loves of four sisters growing up in 19th-century Massachusetts.
Call the Midwife writer Heidi Thomas is currently penning the three-part drama, which is set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, and Murder She Wrote legend Angela Lansbury is said to be in talks to play the girls’ wellto-do Aunt March.
