In the late-1970s, an East German woman discovers that paranoia and suspicion reign on both sides of the Iron Curtain after she manages to emigrate to the West with her nine-year-old son. This Cold War drama sees Jördis Triebel doing a fine job of conveying the heroine’s muted emotions.
