Ashley, 35, was born in Peckham in 1982, and was raised by his mother who he once described in an interview as ‘inspirational’.

Before turning his hand to acting, Ashley found fame as part of the garage rap group So Solid Crew, and was known as Asher D.

Later this year, Ashley will be a dad for the eighth time, ‘I have grown up being a father. When my first son was born I was 17. I was a child bringing up a child. I was not capable of understanding what a dad was meant to be’.
