Catherine Tyldesley (right) has revealed the inspiration behind her character Eva’s famous laugh. ‘I went to drama school with an opera singer, and she had a laugh which was quite similar and Eva’s is a version of that,’ says Catherine. ‘people keep sending me tweets, asking for it as a ring tone. as if you’d want that as your ring tone!’

Ian Puleston-davies (below), who played Owen armstrong in the soap, has been cast in new ITV drama Hatton Garden, about the £14m heist carried out by a group of pensioners in 2015. the four-parter will also star timothy Spall.
